Arylic isn’t slowing with the releases of new models. The all-new B50SE sounds just like the B50 but with a lower price tag and fewer features. It seems every time I test out something new from Arylic there are even more features packed in, but does it remain true to its great sound? Let’s jump into the review.

Setup and Use

There are a ton of different ways to use this amp, it’s basically a Swiss Army Knife for compact audio. I used it as my desktop amp for nearfield listening, but you could use it as a DAC in your living room, or a dedicated Bluetooth amp in a bedroom; so many options abound that I cannot test everything for this review.

A remote and app are included, not to mention the volume knob on the front that switches inputs when you press it. I used an app called Go Control which takes seconds to set up. You can pretty much do everything with the remote if you want, just with no front screen, it’s hard to tell what’s happening. The current input has a colored LED over it but that’s about it. Overall, the build is excellent, the case looks sleek and fresh. It’s bigger than the Arylic A50+ so the back panel is far less cluttered with connections. The volume knob is not my favorite, I wish it were smooth instead of lightly clicking to adjust the volume. Once you have everything set up you are good to go! So how does it sound?

Listening

The Arylic B50SE Amp boasts an impressive power output, delivering crystal-clear sound and impressive dynamics that breathe life into your music collection. With its high-fidelity performance and robust amplification capabilities, the B50SE will have you rediscovering your favorite tracks with stunning clarity, depth, and precision. Clean power and plenty of it was my first thought, it sounds great! It can be a bit airy at times which is a good reason to use the sub out. I almost like the sound of the A50+ a bit better. Much of this can be corrected using the amp’s EQ but there is still a lack of warmth in the highs. The bass and mids were excellent so overall, I really enjoyed this little compact amp.

While being $50 cheaper than the regular B50, it has a use in any room you throw it into. For $89 it’s tough to beat feature-wise as it has everything you need and then some. If you don’t need HDMI or phono preamp, this unit will save you $50 over the B50. But in my opinion, I would still take the B50. An extra $50 is not much for a phono preamp and HDMI versatility, and it’s a great amount of added value. The sound is great, not perfect but still very high up there. It’s a great amp for just getting into HiFi or setting up a new system for very little cash. Even if you don’t need it, you probably will think of a good use for it by the time it arrives at your doorstep. It’s an excellent little amp for the price!
