“TEAC has a long-established reputation for creating innovative products designed for producing high fidelity audio and the AP-505 and AX-505 are worthy newcomers,” said Don Milks, Director of Marketing & Product Localization for Onkyo USA. “We are excited to debut these two impressive products at CES and provide them the media and retail exposure they deserve.”

AX-505 Stereo Integrated Amplifier

Available in January, the AX-505 features a Hypex Ncore class D power amplifier that is specifically tuned for TEAC and has a rated output of 70W+70W (8 ohms, 1kHz, THD 0.8%). The power amplifier section integrates protection circuits to guard against current surge, over-voltage as well as over-heating.

The unit uses a toroidal-core power transformer which improves ability of the power supply to resist fluctuations in output. A stable power supply output means the AX-505 can maintain its rated output power under heavy load conditions. Additionally, the power section integrates Schottky barrier diodes to increase efficiency and reduce the amount of heat generated.

The quality of the AX-505 is revealed in its design details and features. The unit is encased in an aluminum cabinet with machined aluminum knobs and large, gold-plated screw-style speaker terminals, and features a cooling-fan-less design for Hi-Fi listening. The VU meters come with a four-step dimmable, backlight and AD/DA circuits, while the headphone amplifier with CCLC delivers full low-frequency audio and a robust headphone soundstage.
