SHAKOPEE, Minn. — Sept. 30, 2009 — Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI), a leading manufacturer of professional-grade, integrator-friendly control solutions, today announced that the company’s T1-B handheld universal system controller and RKM-1 multi-room audio keypad were honored with awards at CEDIA EXPO 2009 in Atlanta. The T1-B took home a Custom Retailer Exc!te Award, while the RKM-1 was named the winner of a Residential Systems Resi Award in the “Best Custom Install Accessory” category.

The Exc!te Award, presented by Custom Retailer magazine, pays tribute to products that stand out for being innovative solutions for the custom installation professional. The winners were selected from more than 450 nominations received and judged by the magazine’s editorial staff. The sixth-annual Residential Systems magazine’s Resi Award entries were reviewed by an esteemed panel of independent judges from the CEDIA channel and the industrial design community, whose task was to recognize the most innovative industrial designs of products in the custom installation industry.

“It is truly an honor to have our T1-B and RKM-1 control solutions recognized with these two prestigious awards, and we consider it a real testament to our commitment to the custom installation channel,” said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI. “Installers today are looking for value-driven solutions that provide the utmost in flexibility and ease of installation while offering their clients intuitive, customizable control for a relaxing entertainment experience. Our T1-B and RKM-1 were specifically designed to meet these needs.”

RTI’s T1-B controller offers installers an affordable alternative to more expensive touchscreen controllers, featuring intuitive, customizable control in a sleek and sexy design worthy of any home. Completely customizable to control virtually any aspect of an electronic system, the T1-B features 40 assignable keypad buttons that can be individually programmed to control devices or execute multi-step macros for more complex installations involving several components. Additionally, the unit offers eight source and four general purpose keypad buttons with interchangeable key labels.

The RKM-1 keypad provides a simple and flexible solution for multi-room audio control. For seamless integration, the keypad is sized for a single gang electrical box and is designed for flush-mount installations in walls or cabinets. For intuitive control, the keypad features eight fully programmable hard buttons, and a customizable LED display provides feedback on power status, selected source, and volume level.

When other RTI devices are employed, the T1-B and RKM-1 are capable of two-way communication, RF transmission through walls and cabinets, RS-232 control, contact closures, power sensing, and much more. For technicians, programming the units is simple with RTI’s Windows®-based Integration Designer™ software.

Both control solutions are available now, at an MSRP of $349 for the T1-B and $149 for the RKM-1.
