Last year, GoldenEar demonstrated an extraordinary Atmos system at CEDIA, featuring Triton One Towers, a SuperCenter XXL, Invisa® HTR 7000s as height speakers, and Triton Two Towers as rear surrounds.

Many attendees thought it was, perhaps, the best, most natural sounding, Atmos system at the show. This year, we decided to show something equally special, but very different: a full, in-ceiling, stealth Atmos system, featuring our In-Ceiling Invisa HTR 7000s ($499ea.), as Front Left, Right, Center, as well as height speakers, along with our brand new SuperSub XXL Dual-Plane, Inertially-Balanced 1600 watt subwoofer ($1999ea.) and our Invisa MPX in-walls ($499ea.) as Rear Surrounds. Our feeling is that the concept of a virtually invisible high-performance Atmos system would be very appealing to a large group of potential consumers, who would like the ultimate performance that Atmos can deliver, but at the same time, are lifestyle oriented, and would like their system to disappear.

Naturally, we selected our in-ceiling Invisa HTR 7000s as the main front left, right and center speakers, as well as for the four Atmos height speakers. We successfully showed a surround system two years ago at CEDIA featuring the HTR 7000s as main front left, right and center speakers. We had a pair of Triton Two Towers, as well as a SuperCenter XL sitting up front directly under the HTR 7000s, and these speakers in front of them were what most people thought they were listening to, rather than the in-ceiling HTR 7000s. The Invisa HTR 7000s have unique geometry and technology in order to create a superb front soundstage that appears to come from in front rather than from above when they are configured as front main speakers, and they have proven to be very successful in the market in this application. Likewise, we successfully showed our Atmos system last year with HTR 7000s, in a different configuration, as front and rear height speakers. They were also very effective in this application, and have since become a de facto standard for high-performance Atmos height speakers and have already been installed as such in hundreds of systems. Our superb SuperSub XXL, which is brand new to the market and just shipping, is creating tremendous excitement, as it is a reference quality subwoofer that delivers extraordinarily impactful and detailed bass performance in a surprisingly compact package and at a reasonable price. It combines a 1600 watt digital amplifier and 56 bit DSP control package, with our newly developed, patent-pending Dual-Plane Inertially-Balanced Technology. And, of course, our multi-polar Invisa MPX has been very successfully incorporated as both an in-ceiling and in-wall main and surround speakers in countless systems. This complete, super-stealth system is simply a mind-boggling experience.

We are excited to publicly present these three speakers together in this breakthrough Atmos system for the first time at CEDIA. Initial reviewer response is, “It works so well, it is ridiculous”. We strongly believe that this watershed concept will become a new lifestyle standard, will be a boon to custom install and greatly expand the potential market for high-performance object-based surround systems.
