Newest BluOS update v2.6.1 will allow users to index over 200,000 tracks and continues to add music service integration

Pickering, Ontario October 5, 2016 – Version 2.6.1 of BluOS, features significant music indexing changes and a number of user interface enhancements, in conjunction with a new music service integration.

BluOS 2.6.1 makes it possible for music lovers with large music collections to index over 200,000 songs and access them through the BluOS Controller App. This makes Bluesound unique in the category and cements its position in the marketplace as the multi-room streaming leader for true music lovers. Current users of BluOS-enabled products for both the Bluesound and NAD brands will be prompted to update their player firmware to take advantage of this feature.

Current users will also notice a redesigned player drawer that puts quick access audio controls at a user’s fingertips, and also offers expanded options for those who have purchased Bluesound’s new PULSE SOUNDBAR.

As a result of our continued dialogue with music services and technology partners, BluOS is now integrated with Microsoft Groove, which offers access to over 40 million songs for streaming and download. In addition to Microsoft Groove as a new music service, and a newly expanded library index, the new BluOS firmware revamps the at-home listening experience and also now features:

  • New app widgets for iOS, Android and Desktop PC
  • Enhanced user interface for the Apple Watch App
  • Multi-touch app interface for iOS devices including 3D Touch
  • Grouped playback when syncing audio/video in real-time

BluOS is pleased to be able to serve the needs of true music lovers everywhere,” said Greg Stidsen, Lenbrook’s Director of Technology and Product Planning. Stidsen went on to add, “The new changes will also give us abilities to expand functionality for music lovers further. I don’t want to give too much away right now, but we do have some exciting developments coming soon around user-defined sorting as one example.”
