In for review are a pair of T+A Talis R 330 stand-mount speakers in brushed black aluminum enclosures.

T+A Talis R 330 Stand-mount Speaker

It has a 1” magnesium tweeter and 6” woofer, with a large port on the rear panel. It is the first speaker I have reviewed that has a fully aluminum enclosure.

Unpacking these babies, I found the black aluminum enclosures to be spectacular and putting them on the matching stands made them even more beautiful.

The grille is also made of aluminum, and it has small holes punched throughout, covered with black cloth. This is very unusual for a speaker and no doubt difficult to manufacture.

The magnesium tweeter is a 25mm (1”) dome with horn-loading, and the woofer is 170mm (6.7”).

The enclosure is made of one sheet of brushed aluminum that “wraps around” the speaker on the sides and rear, although there is a seam in the two rear corners. It is very well damped, and so are the stands, so you don’t have to fill the stands with sand or cat litter.

The T+A Talis S 330’s are in line with the trend of modern simplistic style with an appearance that will disappear into a room when you are not listening to music. The speakers are all black, and so are the stands.

The main performance features of the T+A Talis R 330 speakers are detailed front edge transients and a deep, punchy bass.

My wife approved and said they were “very sleek.” So, if you are in the market for speakers that will very likely be spouse-approved, you should check these out.
