Eleven Engineering,s Cecille dongle Makes the iPod/iPhone a Walking Audio Transmitter

Eleven Engineering Inc. today announced a break through in wireless transmitters for the iPod/iPhone. The innovative solution code-named Cecille dongle is different with its audio fidelity and its ability to seek new receivers as it travels throughout the home. The solution leverages the popularity of the iPhone/iPod user interface while avoiding the TDMA noise issues that are a crutch to current iPhone/iPod docking stations.

Cecille dongle is limitless in terms of product applications that embrace the iPhone/iPod as an audio playback device. “This component solution is for any company that builds iPod docks, home A/V receivers, or computer speakers” offered Eleven Engineering CEO John Sobota. “It’s greatness is that the iPhone or iPod can now roam anywhere throughout the home – and it can bond up with the speakers or system where the user goes. This allows for companies to build entire product families around this solution.”

With the finished product measuring 28 mm X 15 mm X 6.5 mm (WDH), Eleven’s dongle will be the smallest dongle on the market. The dongle can process audio at a sampling rate of 48 KHz and it has the ability to transmit to multiple speakers simultaneously. Also, Cecille dongle features intelligent bonding, allowing audio to follow the user throughout their home. These are a few of the elements that makes this solution different from others such as Bluetooth®. Further, the TDMA noise caused by mobile phones is a non-issue because the iPhone is not tethered to the speakers.
