NAD has created the first high fidelity amplifier to have Chromecast built-in.

The C 338 Hybrid Digital Integrated Amplifier allows you to stream or cast music directly from a mobile device or any music streaming app (like Spotify), so you can enjoy your favorite music sans wires. Bluetooth® is also incorporated into the C 338 so the streaming experience can be more fully taken advantage of by your mobile devices. A moving-magnet phono input allows vinyl enthusiasts to get in on the fun as well.

Though the NAD C 338 Hybrid Digital Integrated Amplifier comes with a remote that handles the basic functions of volume, input selection, and device settings, you can also control it with an iOS or Android app for even greater convenience.

NAD has engineered the C 338’s highly-efficient power supply with a customized Hypex® UCD output stage to pump out 160 watts of continuous power into two channels, and over 300 watts instantaneously to meet the demands of the most ardent audiophile. Class D technology provides very linear voltage over a wide bandwidth and delivers consistent, noise-free performance. Inputs include both analog and digital for ultimate flexibility. A separate headphone amp is built in which can drive the most demanding headphones, and a subwoofer can be added to the NAD C 338 to round out the package.

Jim Milton

Jim Milton has been interested in high fidelity since his college years in the late 70's. It was there that he first became interested in classical music. He has been part of choral music, both in opera and oratorio and is an avid collector of classical music from the Baroque through the Romantic periods. He enjoys an occasional night at Boston Symphony Hall or attending an organ concert at Merrill Auditorium in Portland, ME. Currently he is the director of Nuclear Medicine at the North Shore Medical Center, located just outside of Boston. He also serves as an adjunct professor for Salem State University where he teaches a course in nuclear instrumentation. During his leisure time, he enjoys listening to his music collection and an occasional movie with his wife of 30+ years. Living on the longest stretch of sandy beach north of Boston offers him plenty of opportunities to take a relaxing stroll or soak up some sun. "Remember, acquiring good A/V gear takes lots of time...but doesn't necessarily take lots of money."
