The Basics
When it comes to delivering bass, DALI subwoofers have always done an admirable job. Their top models can extend to a little below 25 Hz, and they do so in décor-friendly designs that are easy to hide in a corner. The V-16 F is a completely different animal. It uses a 16-inch driver with excursion that approaches 3 inches peak to peak. It wants to turn your room into a subterranean cauldron of vibrating bliss.
The Rundown
What happens when a company with a 40-year history of making well-engineered, sensible loudspeakers decides to go after the state of the art? DALI made the first move a couple of years ago when the company introduced the KORE loudspeaker. This 5 and a half foot tall / 300-plus-pound tower changed what everybody thought about DALI. No longer confined by budget or size, the company went after absolute performance. They succeeded so well that an Epikore line was created for those who could not afford the big Kahunas. Enter the V-16 F in 2026. Once again, DALI took off the restraints of their engineering team and turned them loose on a subwoofer that could compete with the best units on the planet.

The Follow-Up
The DALI V-16 F subwoofer system is going to open up a lot of eyes regarding what a European company can build in the way of a high-end subwoofer. The day after my final listening tests were completed and the measurements taken, DALI announced that the V-16 F had received THX® CERTIFIED DOMINUS status. This is no small feat, especially for a subwoofer of its size and price. Stay tuned for a detailed review coming your way, right here at Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity.
