Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the Concertino G4 Maestro special edition features a brass plaque with progressive numbering. Only 300 are available (my review sample was 11/300). Also included is a signed and numbered lithograph of the Concertino suitable for framing.
In keeping with tradition, the Sonus faber Concertino G4 Maestro combines walnut cabinetry with steel, copper, and plant-based leather to present wonderful sound and an elegant appearance that draws the eyes and ears. Internally, a special cork insert surrounds the drivers and helps reduce vibration and distortion. The one-inch silk dome tweeter is a DAD design which is used in Sonus faber’s high-end models. The solid walnut side walls are gorgeous and add rigidity to the cabinet. My sample came with the additional steel and wood stands that complement the Concertino speakers.

I have reviewed (and owned) Sonus faber speakers in the past, the most recent being the Sonetto II G2. The Concertino series is a beautiful step-up from Sonetto and sonically packs more punch. I was surprised by how well they handled bass and full orchestral music. Vocals are rich and warm, whether male or female, and the tweeter has sizzle, but is never fatiguing. I am looking forward to many hours of listening to these small gems. Look for my review in the coming weeks!
