This speaker is going to be a hit. This review is my first go-around with Elac. The Debut series has been around for quite some time, and I have only ever heard nice things about them.

ELAC Debut 3.0 DB63-BK Bookshelf Speaker

So, it was no surprise when I got these set up and into place that I fell in love immediately.

These are classic large bookshelf speakers. There’s no flash. They are standard build, classy, sturdy, and imposing speakers. They are black there are no other color ways. Just black.

They have a nice chunky magnetic grill on the front with a cut-out on the bottom revealing the logo on the front baffle. The weave on the mesh has a visible couch-like texture. I like it.

The front baffle itself features a satin finish that elevates the overall appearance. It features a 6.5″ aramid fiber mid-bass driver and a 1″ aluminum dome tweeter. The tweeter sits in a waveguide and has a vertically centered metal ornament over top of it. It reminds me of a Lincoln hood ornament. As far as black boxes go, this a nice-looking one.

I set these up as I do every speaker in my room, about 8″ away from the wall, on stands about 8 feet apart, and toed in a touch toward my listening position.
