It is no suprize that a antenna can make or break reception. The standard antenna starts to degrade the moment it is installed due to salt and acid rain in our
atmosphere, let alone hurricane force winds might bend or break it’s fragile construction.

A Case For The SE 879 FM Stereo Antenna

Engineered and designed by an aerospace engineer who is a true audiophile. Every aspect of the SE 879 was designed for maximum performance. The SE 879 is made of premium copper nickel alloy used for the receiving element.

The diameter 0.625 inch stock insures the best conductive metal for a good solid match across the FM band. The high quality polyurethane overcoat on a special epoxy undercoat virtually eliminates corrosion while reducing static and noise that would be induced by an exposed metallic element. The SE 879 design employs encapulated technology which is essential to protect from the elements of weather. Critical to the SE 879 antenna design is a hermetically sealed matching circuit which keeps the integrity of the signal and sends it down to the tuner for undistorted sound. A quality 14k gold plated connector is utilized for corrosion free hookup. The hardware is stainless steel to resist rust and corrosion. The receiving element has an impression fit mounting for rigidity and can withstand winds that most other antennas would show notable damage. A FM antenna especially a HD FM antenna requires a wide-bandwidth that can capture adequate signal strength with as little multipath as possible and no self generated noise, this is why the SE 879 is an excellent choice among antennas.
