Meze Audio launches 105 SILVA, an open back headphone that captivates all senses

Romanian manufacturer Meze Audio, renowned for its timeless craftsmanship and emotionally engaging sound, proudly announces the launch of its newest creation: 105 SILVA, a dynamic open-back headphone designed to breathe life into every note and redefine how we experience music.

105 SILVA boasts an exquisite design inspired by the Mid-Century Modern movement. Fusing vintage charm with contemporary aesthetics, the radial grille sublimely intertwines with the walnut wood to form the ear cups, creating a feel that never truly ages.

Finely balanced between musicality and refinement, 105 SILVA offers a smooth blend of clarity and richness. Through continuous development, the 105 SILVA delivers a clear, rich and engaging sound that easily brings out the finer details in your favourite tracks.

Inside the headphones there is audio technology to match — a 50 mm dynamic driver with a cellulose composite dome and a titanium-covered surround helps produce a crisp, engaging and detailed audio experience. Its titanium-coated semicrystalline polymer torus, and copper-zinc stabilizer ensure the driver membrane’s rigidity and strength, for a fast transient response and pleasantly textured bass with minimal distortion.

“With the 105 SILVA, we took what we learned from the 109 PRO and the 105 AER, giving it sound characteristics from both: richness and genre versatility combined with clarity and detail. It is not merely a combination of both, however, as we’ve introduced a more expressive midrange presentation for enhanced vocal presence and a more natural-sounding representation of acoustic stringed instruments.”

105 SILVA’s sound signature is a new take on Meze Audio’s iconic characteristics, including the technicalities of 109 PRO combined with the warmth and genre versatility of 105 AER. 105 SILVA specializes in mid-range presentation for vocals and strings, meaning listeners can enjoy the liveliness and impact of any music without sacrificing the micro details present in well-recorded tracks.

105 SILVA’s emblematic design also ensures all materials used in the headphones positively contribute to the overall performance. Building on the premium contact materials used in the full design of the headphones, including its deep-cushioned earcups and self-adjusting headband, 105 SILVA reflects Meze Audio’s ongoing pursuit of ergonomic comfort, shaped by years of thoughtful research and refinement.

In parallel, every component of 105 SILVA is crafted for lasting wearability and performance, by allowing every component to be disassembled and replaced, supporting longevity and sustainable use over time.

105 SILVA headphones will be available for purchase starting July 23rd 2025, 12:00PM GMT, on mezeaudio.com, mezeaudio.eu and in selected retailers worldwide, with a suggested retail price of $499/€499.
