Fibaro Adds Russound Integration to Deliver Easy Control of Multi-Room Audio and Streaming Within the Smart Home

Chicago, IL – March 1, 2017 – FIBARO, a leading global manufacturer of wireless intelligent home automation and control devices, announces integration with Russound, whole house audio market innovator. The pair have developed three plug-ins that allow Fibaro Home Center controllers, like Home Center 2, to remotely manage Russound’s XSource Streaming Audio Player as well as two of Russound’s audio systems.

Russound XSource Plug-in 

With the XSource plug-in, Fibaro Home Center controllers can remotely manage the Russound XSource audio streamer, a multi-use streaming media solution for easy integration with external amplifiers or whole-house receivers. The XSource offers analog and digital outputs as well as built-in Ethernet connectivity. 

Russound MCA-88X Plug-in
 
The Russound MCA-88X plug-in allows Fibaro Home Center controllers to remotely manage the Russound MCA-88X audio system, a digital multi-zone controller amplifier streamer that provides up to eight zones of distributed audio. The MCA-88X offers a variety of input options allowing users to connect up to seven individual sources (seven analog or up to three digital) in addition to its built-in XStream streamer. 

Russound XZone4 Plug-in 

Using the XZone4 plug-in, Fibaro Home Center controllers can remotely manage the Russound XZone4, a 4-zone audio system. The XZone4 is an innovative single-box audio streaming solution for up to four rooms in a house. With four independent streaming sources, every room can stream any content without affecting the other rooms, including a rare four streams of Apple AirPlay. 

With any of the three plug-ins, users can control basic functionality remotely from the Fibaro App including: Zone Power, Play/Pause, Volume Level, Mute/Unmute, Previous, Next, as well as select favorite radio stations and audio queue setup in the ‘My Russound’ app. The plug-ins can be accessed within Home Center 2.
