SIM2 Grows Popular DOMINO Series

“We now have three offerings under $10,000 that compete against anything else in this hot category,” said Charlie Boornazian’s SIM2’s VP of Sales and Marketing. “It’s important to our dealers that we offer a complete range of projectors that answer their full range of customer needs, and the new D60 delivers incredible 1080p picture quality and a tremendous value.”

SIM2 includes a range of advanced technologies that belie the D60’s modest price tag! The new model’s single-chip DLP projection system is based upon the latest 1080p DarkChip3 0.95-inch DMD chipset from innovator Texas Instruments, which incorporates two recent developments that enhance TI’s latest-generation DLP solutions. BrilliantColor improves optical efficiency and extends the system’s available color gamut, while Dynamic Black contrast-enhancement significantly boosts effective black-level. Thanks in part to these advances, the D60’s extended contrast (>10,000:1), powerful brightness, and superbly accurate color rendition combine to deliver crisp, colorful images without the motion-blur associated with competing technologies.

While SIM2 kept performance and value paramount in the D60’s design, the affordable new projector is extremely user friendly as well. Three different preset modes (Cinema, Dynamic, and Standard) and three user-customizable memories allow the owner or designer/installer to calibrate for the viewing environment or user preferences with detailed parameters including gamma. Installers in particular will appreciate the feature-rich D60’s full range of inputs and outputs, which includes dual HDMI inputs, component, and RGB-HD as well as serial control and 12v-trigger, and the versatility of powered vertical lens shift (+60/-40 percent), variable Iris, and 50-200-inch picture size. The D60 is compatible with all video standards including 1080p, and integrates on-board processing for every important aspect ratio, 16:9, anamorphic, letterbox, and pixel-for-pixel. The D60 projector is available in SIM2’s famous Black Shadow matte finish.
