DENVER, CO, October 5, 2017 – Acoustic Research®, the esteemed audio company with more than 60 years of innovation, advanced technology development, and outstanding designs that complement consumers’ lifestyles, today announced it will soon ship the AR-M200, a thirdgeneration hi-resolution audio player that also serves as a Bluetooth bi-directional streamer, featuring audiophile-grade components, including an integrated, Class A headphone amplifier.
Following the acclaimed AR-M2 and AR-M20 Hi-Res Audio players, the AR-M200 separates itself from the crowd with one of the finest DACs available (the AKM4490), a unique high-current high-output Class Abased amplifier and true high-end signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range. The amplifier provides full waveform amplification, along with zero cross-over distortion, and delivers the pure essence of Hi-Fi sound – sound that is smoother and tighter than what is typical of the price point.
Capable of receiving and streaming Bluetooth audio with AptX HD decoding, the AR-M200 supports a wide range of HD music formats and is capable of driving high-end, full-size headphones via its 3.5mm and 4.4mm Pentaconn headphones output. (The AR-M200 is one of only two consumer portable Hi-Res players to feature the Pentaconn interface.)

Additional benefits of the AR-M200 include a thin, 2.4-inch 240 x 320 in-plane switching (IPS) LCD screen, music and video apps, support for games and individual grounding for left and right channels, providing improved stereo separation.
Weighing just 4.5 ounces, the AR-M200 is even lighter than the second-generation AR-M20 that came in at 6.3 ounces and the award-winning first-generation AR-M2 that came in at 8.5 ounces. The AR-M200 is also smaller than its predecessor, with a width of 2.3 inches and height of 4.7 inches.
“A digital audio player must encompass the best of all worlds if it is going to be part of a consumer’s lifestyle,” said Sebastien Manenc, Senior Vice President, Asia, Voxx International Corporation, parent company of Acoustic Research. “The AR-M200 epitomizes the best of the category, combining top-shelf components, an intuitive interface, and AR’s signature audiophile sound quality in a compact, and aesthetically pleasing pocket-size chassis. It’s no exaggeration to say this player set a new high bar for the category, especially at such an affordable price.”
