HIFIMAN has released the third in its series of “Unveiled” planar magnetic headphones with the release of the Arya Unveiled.

HIFIMAN Arya Unveiled Planar Magnetic Headphone

When HIFIMAN first announced the Susvara Unveiled, it sent a shockwave through the head-fi community. Discussion groups were ablaze with speculation on whether there would be an improvement in sound to justify the perceived risk to the drivers. The stellar reviews for the Susvara Unveiled proved the concept is a good one. The HE1000 series was next in line with the release of the HE1000 Unveiled. And now, the Arya series has the Arya Unveiled. The concept is simple in theory. Remove the protective grills that cover the magnets and diaphragm, and you remove a source of possible reflections and distortion that can affect the sound. However, there are more changes in the structure of the Arya Unveiled than just the removal of the grills and those changes have resulted in an Arya that has a sound uniquely its own.

With a sensitivity of 94dB, and an impedance of 27Ω, this is an easy headphone to drive and doesn’t need top tier gear to sound great. The Arya Unveiled ship with protective Magnetic Veils that snap on and off easily and keep the drivers covered when not in use.

Watch for my future review of the HIFIMAN Arya Unveiled, where I will provide an in-depth report.
