The DALI Kupid is one small speaker with a very big sound.

DALI Kupid Rear ported 2-way Bookshelf loudspeakers

The Basics:

Coming from Denmark, this small bookshelf or stand-mounted speaker can be deceiving to look at. It’s only 9.3 x 5.5 x 7.6 inches in size, and you might mistake it for one of those inexpensive speakers that go next to a computer. The variety of colors available might also lull you into thinking these speakers are not serious. You’d be mistaken.

DALI Kupid Rear ported 2-way Bookshelf loudspeakers Walnut, Golden Yellow, Black Ash, Caramel White, and Chilly Blue Color Finishes

The Rundown:

They are serious, very, very serious. The Kupid’s retail for $600 a pair; they are optimized for a consistent impedance of 4 ohms. They are easily driven by a range of amplifiers for traditional hi-fi enthusiasts or desktop listening. And include wall-mount brackets and rubber feet, combined with the cabinet and port design, to ensure that placement is easy and flexible for a variety of living environments, even allowing Kupid speakers to be placed as close as 1 inch from a wall boundary without creating unwanted sound turbulence and resonances.

The Follow-Up:

Who are the DALI Kupid’s for?

I think it’s going to work as a desktop system, a smaller living space on a shelf or stand, and where high-quality sound is desired. It’s probably not for a bass head or organ music fan, but it doesn’t sound tinny in any way.
