See the complete review of the Audio Physic Step Plus Loudspeaker

The new Audio Physic Step plus is designed to fill an ever-growing requirement for a high-quality speaker that works in a small to modest-sized spaces.

Audio Physic of Germany has taken their know-how in large speaker design and upgraded one of their smaller offerings, giving us the Audio Physic Step plus. They Audio Physic Step plus speaker is easy to drive, has a wonderful build quality, and incorporates a high performance tweeter along with a cabinet that drastically reduces resonances that can disturb mid to low frequencies.

The Step plus images with pin-point precision – Listening to jazz, rock or classical my small room came alive with clear directional cues from my usual demo and test discs. Big speakers crammed into a small room can create a host of problems in placement and frequency balance, so it’s really nice to hear a speaker designed for smaller rooms.

This speaker won’t reach the lowest frequencies, but there is usable output below 40hz, making it easy to pair with a subwoofer, I’ve listened with and without and will report on my experiences.

I’m anxious to share the complete review with our readers, but I can tell you in advance that the Audio Physic outperforms just about everything at or near its size that I’ve heard.

Mel Martin

Mel spent most of his life working in television journalism in Ohio, Florida, the BBC in London, and in Seattle, WA. He won a few EMMY awards along the way which most people mistake for bowling trophies. Being around all those expensive monitors frustrated him when he got home to his threadbare TV and stereo, so he began to improve things, brand by brand, upgrade by upgrade. He’s got a lovely OLED TV now, flanked by Magnepan 3.6r speakers, and a Home theater with an Epson Projector and Focal speakers. Also scatted about the house are HiFiMan headphones, and 6 Sonos Connect devices that are spraying his rather large music collection from room to room. Other equipment is from Oppo, Sony, Aurender, PS Audio and Emotiva. Musical tastes range from Classical to Jazz to New Age to classic Rock and Roll. Mel has written a biography of film producer Samuel Bronston (El Cid, King of Kings) and is working now on a second film related book. He resides in Arizona where, when he’s not adjusting his home theater, he dabbles in landscape and astronomical photography.
