Velodyne Wins CEA Mark of Excellence Award

“Winning a Mark of Excellence Award for the MicroVee is truly an honor,” said Bruce Hall, president of Velodyne. “We continually strive to be the leading innovator in subwoofer design and technology and this award is a testament to the design efforts of our engineering team to produce a small subwoofer with outstanding bass performance.”

The MicroVee features the latest generation of Velodyne’s patented Energy Recovery System (ERS) Class D amplifier, supplying 2000 watts of dynamic power and 1000 watts of continuous RMS power. In addition, the MicroVee sports a three-driver system. The active 6.5” driver incorporates an aluminum cone and dual-layer copper voice coil that assures linear travel as it handles the gigantic power delivered by the ERS amp. Two aluminum-cone passive 6.5” drivers augment the active driver and are tuned to deliver the incredible bass output demanded by today’s home theaters. The MicroVee’s ribbed, extruded aluminum cabinet complements any room décor so as to please any interior decorator.

CEA’s Mark of Excellence Awards honor industry leaders in custom electronics products, services and installations that are instrumental in changing the shape of the connected home. Industry trend setters were honored in three categories – Supplier, Training and Support Programs and System Integrators.

Each TechHome Mark of Excellence Awards category is judged by a four-member panel comprised of systems integrators, manufacturers, members of the trade press and industry consultants. Each entry is given a numeric score and the entry with the highest score in each category is named a TechHome Mark of Excellence Awards winner.
