Atlona Soars at InfoComm 2011

Company Honored With Commercial Integrator BEST Award and AV Technology End-User Award

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — June 23, 2011 — Atlona Technologies(R), a leading digital connectivity solutions provider, today announced that the company was honored with two awards at InfoComm 2011 in Orlando. Atlona’s AT-PRO2HD1616M-SR HDBaseT 16×16 HDMI matrix switcher received a Commercial Integrator BEST Award, while the company took home a 2011 AV Technology End-User Award for the deployment of its AT-LINE-PRO2 switcher/scaler and AT-HD4-V40SRS HDMI extender at the University of California San Diego Arts Library.

“Receiving one of these awards would have been a great honor for us, but to be recognized by both Commercial Integrator and AV Technology is an accomplishment we take tremendous pride in. It is a real testament to the technology behind our digital connectivity solutions and the benefits they offer to the commercial market,” said Atlona president and CEO, Ilya Khain.

The Commercial Integrator BEST Awards recognize products and services that help Commercial Integrator’s readers run their businesses better and be more profitable. A panel of commercial industry experts, including editors of Commercial Integrator and leading integrators, judged the winners in each of 62 categories based on creativity, innovation, incorporated equipment, ease of installation or implementation, and business benefits. In the category of “Matrix Switchers,” they chose Atlona’s AT-PRO2HD1616M-SR HDBaseT 16×16 HDMI matrix switcher.

The Atlona AT-PRO2HD1616M-SR is a true 16×16 high-speed HDMI matrix switcher, featuring 16 HDMI 1.4 inputs and 16 independently switchable twisted pair outputs to feed 16 separate receiver modules (included). The unit has the ability to equalize, amplify, and reclock the signal to ensure HDMI-accurate signal transmission through long cables without quality loss. Featuring HDBaseT technology, the switcher extends HDMI sources up to 330 feet at 4Kx2K resolution over a single Cat 5/6/7 cable, in addition to providing analog two-channel stereo, bidirectional RS-232, and zone-specific bidirectional IR pass-through up to 60 KHz. In addition, the unit provides support for Deep Color, HDCP, and full 3D, while preserving 7.1-channel digital audio, including DTS-HD and Dolby(R) TrueHD.

The first-annual AV Technology End-User Awards recognize innovations that specifically benefit end users, technology managers, and facility directors in all commercial sectors. A panel of esteemed judges selected the winners based on ease of use, reliability, overall network impact, and return on investment. In the category of “Best Interactive & Remote Learning System,” Atlona was a winner for the deployment of its AT-LINE-PRO2 switcher/scaler and AT-HD4-V40SRS HDMI extender at the UCSD Arts Library. According to the judges, the UCSD installation was chosen because the “project and product application truly defines what an educational, interactive learning facility should look like and how it should operate.”

The UCSD Arts Library is utilizing Atlona’s AT-LINE-PRO2 switcher/scaler and AT-HD4-V40SRS HDMI extender for HD delivery of legacy SD and new HD sources to 32 new viewing stations. Media played out from VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray devices is switched and scaled transparently to provide the highest possible quality HD (1080p) output. The Atlona AT-LINE-PRO2 accepts composite, component, and HDMI sources, scaling and feeding the signal to the Atlona AT-HD4-V40SRS with remote control. The AT-HD4-V40SRS sender/receiver pair delivers the HDMI signal up to 120 feet over Cat6 cable to the viewing station without compromising image quality or video continuity. Students simply sit at a viewing station, initiate playout via the remote control unit, plug in their headphones, and watch assigned video.
