Here at SoundNews, we are always impressed when a highly refined product emerges from years of experience, craftsmanship, and innovation. The fourth generation of one of the smallest stand mounts from Sonus Faber, the Concertino, was announced, and today we can tell you more as the confidentiality curtain is lifted now. Before you have a chance to look closely at this Maestro Edition, we need to tell you a little more about this fourth generation of Concertino, which takes Sonus Faber’s tradition to new technological boundaries, respecting Italian craftsmanship while enhancing it with the research and use of innovative materials and cutting-edge acoustic solutions.
Special Edition
As a celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the first Concertino introduction, Sonus Faber is releasing a limited run of 300 pairs of Concertino G4 “Maestro” special editions. These special editions feature a brass plaque with progressive numbering applied to the walnut side panel of the speaker.
Cork, walnut, and plant-based leather
Innovative materials, like cork, a material shared by Suprema and Sonetto, are used in the central chassis. This allows precise modeling, limits internal resonances, and reduces the need for additional damping material inside the small cabinet, significantly improving sound quality.
The side walls are crafted from solid walnut wood with ribbed surfaces for enhanced structural integrity and rigidity without internal bracing. The cork structure and front baffle are covered with recycled leather or a plant-based alternative produced by Ohoskin.
An aluminum ring enclosing the silk tweeter, a reflex duct output crafted from walnut wood, and superb binding posts with a brass nameplate will complete Sonus Faber’s luxurious plethora of materials and highly skilled craftsmanship.

Acoustic Design
The Concertino G4 is a 2-way stand mount featuring a 1″ silk dome tweeter with DAD technology and a 5″ paper pulp mid-woofer with an organic basket. A reflex port in the back of the cabinet prevents turbulence, and the crossover design is simplified in line with Sonus Faber’s Phase-Coherent philosophy. The Concertino G4 comes with a dedicated stand design enriched with walnut veneer inserts to complement the speaker’s aesthetic.
