Sony surprised everyone with their 1080p Ruby projector at $10,000 list, $7,500 street price, so all the 1080p projectors coming out will have to be at competitive pricing to keep up with the Ruby.

Sharp displayed a prototype 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio LCD panel. Initial production units will go to studios for mastering, and the contrast in the display was truly revolutionary.
