RTI's XP-6 Central Control Processor Now Shipping

Latest XP Processor Offers Variety of Control Options, Astronomical Clock for Time-Based Events, and Two-Way Communications, All at an Amazing Value

SHAKOPEE, Minn. — March 29, 2011 — Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI) today announced that the company is now shipping the latest addition to its XP family of control processors: the XP-6. Packed with an impressive feature set, the XP-6 is designed to put complete command of the entire system, from A/V components to lighting and HVAC, conveniently at the user’s fingertips.

The XP-6 offers a wide variety of control options for systems of any complexity, including two-way RS-232, relay, IP, and routable IR. The processor features support for RTI 433-MHz receivers for one-way RF communication, and ZigBee(R) 2.4-GHz transceivers can be incorporated for more sophisticated bidirectional communication with an RTI in-wall or handheld controller.

Taking full advantage of the horsepower built into the XP series control processors, the XP-6 features an astronomical clock for time-based events, and utilizes powerful two-way drivers for A/V, security, lighting, HVAC systems, and much more. These drivers provide the user with instant feedback from these devices, delivering important information such as play lists, the status of a security system, climate information, and even weather forecasts. The XP-6 also supports RTI’s Virtual Panel, which allows users to control and monitor an RTI system from any PC running Microsoft(R) Windows(R).

“We are pleased to say that the latest and greatest installment of our XP series of processors is now shipping,” said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI. “The XP-6 offers everything needed to take complete control over any electronic environment. The processor’s built-in astronomical clock allows users to automate all aspects of their environment, including climate, lighting, music, and much more. In addition, its range of control options makes it suitable for any installation, while its ability to receive two-way feedback from third-party devices offers the ultimate in convenience. Add to that support for the RTI Virtual Panel, and you’ve got one amazing processor at a great value.”

The XP-6 is available now at an MSRP of $599.
