Legacy Audio Presents the FOCUS XD

(Springfield, IL) – Legacy’s new FOCUS XD is a versatile mastering grade speaker system that offers superior dynamics and frequency range. The internally powered six driver, 4-way tower delivers tremendous clarity and impact with 750 watts of ICEpower^® internal amplification, and three powering configurations.

The treble region is articulated with Legacy’s Dual AMT tweeter configuration. The air displacement and acceleration of the 1” and 4” pleated diaphragms is four times greater than conventional tweeters, thus providing greater air and detail.

A pair of Legacy’s recently developed 7” graphene- filled carbon fiber mids richly present textures from baritone sax to dobro owing to a massive magnetic structure, copper phase-plug and shorting ring. The remarkable clarity and natural warmth in the lower midrange is underpinned by the drivers’ unique ability to punch in the mid-bass. The driver layout and crossover design greatly reduce the floor bounce dip that hinders imaging.

The low end of the spectrum emerges from dual 12” subwoofers, each employing a rigid aluminum diaphragm high-temp voice-coil and optimized suspension. The B6 alignment eliminates DC offset and provides the ultimate in extension and weight from timpani and pedal notes to Wooten’s slapped strings.

FOCUS XD can be driven full range via its balanced XLR input or bi-amped with an external amp such as the iV2 using the rear binding posts. Add the Legacy Wavelet II processor and bypass the internal passive bass crossover empowering the system advantages of DSP and Bohmer Room Correction.
