HONG KONG, December 8, 2017 – Acoustic Research®, the legendary audio company with more than 60 years of innovation, advanced technology development, and outstanding designs that complement consumers’ lifestyles, today announced the availability of the AR-M200 (SRP: $399), a third-generation hi-resolution audio player that also serves as a Bluetooth bi-directional streamer, featuring audiophile-grade components, including an integrated, Class A headphone amplifier.

Following the acclaimed AR-M2 and AR-M20 Hi-Res Audio players, the AR-M200 features one of the finest DACs available (the AKM4490), a unique high-current high-output Class A-based amplifier and true high-end signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range. The amplifier provides full waveform amplification, along with zero cross-over distortion, and delivers the pure essence of Hi-Fi sound – sound that is smoother and tighter than what is typical of the price point.

Capable of receiving and streaming Bluetooth audio with AptX HD decoding, the AR-M200 supports a wide range of HD music formats and is capable of driving high-end, full-size headphones via its 3.5mm and 4.4mm JEITA balanced headphone output. (The AR-M200 is one of only a few consumer Hi-Res players to feature the JEITA balanced interface, which is a new standard for headphone connections set by The Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association. The JEITA interface ensures better signal transmission over the traditional 3.5mm standard stereo interface and 2.5mm balanced stereo interface.)

Additional benefits of the AR-M200 include a thin, 2.4-inch 240 x 320 in-plane switching (IPS) LCD screen, music and video apps, support for games, and individual grounding for left and right channels, providing improved stereo separation.

M200 Angled

Weighing just 4.5 ounces, the AR-M200 is even lighter than the second-generation AR-M20 that came in at 6.3 ounces, and the award-winning first-generation AR-M2 that weighs 8.5 ounces. The AR-M200 is also smaller than its predecessors, with a width of 2.3 inches and height of 4.7 inches.

“A digital audio player must offer the best of all worlds if it is going to be part of a consumer’s lifestyle,” said Sebastien Manenc, Senior Vice President, Asia, Voxx International Corporation, parent company of Acoustic Research. “As we saw when we previewed the AR-M200 at Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, our new player strikes a chord with music lovers because of how it combines top-shelf components, an intuitive interface, and AR’s signature audiophile sound quality in a compact, and aesthetically pleasing pocket-size chassis. It’s a new high bar for the category, especially at such an affordable price.”

The new AR-M200 is available via the Acoustic Research website and select dealers. For further information, visit www.acousticresearch-hifi.com/AR-M200
