Madrigal Merges Proceed into the Mark Levinson Brand

April 2, 2003

Madrigal announces the evolution of Proceed into the Mark Levinson
brand. This merging of Madrigal’s two electronic lines into one unified brand is in response to long standing customer requests.

“Over the past few years, many Mark Levinson distributors, dealers, and customers have expressed their desire for Proceed products to more closely resemble Mark Levinson products or to simply become part of the Mark Levinson brand” says Mark Glazier, Senior Vice President of Sales for Madrigal products. “This decision to elevate our best Proceed products into the Mark Levinson line has been enthusiastically welcomed by our dealers and worldwide distributors. It will provide our customers with a more focused and stronger Mark Levinson line and we become a more important supplier,” added Glazier. Proceed has always been designed, engineered and built by the same dedicated people who produce Mark Levinson and Proceed is frequently described as the “more affordable Mark Levinson components.”
Madrigal targeted the most successful Proceed models for the transition: the AVP2+6, the CVP2, the HPA2 and the HPA3. Glazier advised, “There will be no effort to hide the fact that the new models wore a Proceed badge in their previous lives. They have always been Mark Levinson products at heart and their internal construction quality, performance, and capabilities confirm their heritage.”

Madrigal is targeting the launch of the Proceed models that will make the transition to Mark Levinson by the winter of 2003 at prices near or at the current prices of the Proceed models on which they are based. Some current Proceed products will not make the transition: the BPA2, the BPA3, the AMP5, and the PMDT. Specific pricing and details will be announced later.

Current Proceed models remain in production and fully supported by Madrigal. Glazier stated, “We will make every effort to build the current Proceed models until the launch of the new Mark Levinson products. Although the Proceed brand will eventually fade away, our commitment to supporting them and our customers will not.” Glazier closed with “The Mark Levinson line has achieved a unique status in the high end sec- April 2, 2003 2 tor in the last three decades. Our customers understand the value of the history and brand recognition that only comes with an established name that has withstood the test of time. This transition allows us
to focus our engineering resources on Mark Levinson products going forward. Our customers anticipate that the Mark Levinson brand will become even stronger with time as a result of this decision and that is the goal.”
