With the launch of the Studio Control Monitor - SCM35, ATC completes a new
Collection of high performance passive stereo loudspeakers, designed, without
compromise, to introduce the ATC hand-built engineering technology to a wider
audience at affordable prices. 'The New Passive Collection' comprises the
award-winning Studio Control Monitors SCM7, the Five Star SCM12, and the new
SCM35 loudspeakers. Two dedicated horizontal centre channel speakers, and two
powered
 subs
complete the matching collection, for multichannel installations.
The SCM35 is a new high performance 3-way loudspeaker system, capable of
outstanding levels of music and soundtrack reproduction. Designed for high
performance domestic installations in either stereo or multichannel, it is
suitable for amplifiers of 50-300 watts per channel, and is capable of maximum
continuous SPL of 112dB.
The SCM35's superior soft-domed Neodynium magnet high frequency tweeter,
provides a smooth and detailed response to beyond 20Kh, capable of accurately
reproducing the higher frequencies of SACD and DVDA.
Vital mid-range is covered by a version of the famous ATC soft-dome 3"
transducer. This wide frequency range driver, offers an exceptionally smooth
performance over much of the critical voice and musical instrument fundamental
frequency range.
An entirely new 8" bass driver, has been developed for this speaker, featuring
ATC's proven short voice coil in an 18mm long magnetic gap, giving exceptional
linearity and wide dynamic range. The sealed box enclosure design and 12dB bass
roll-off, gives useful bass information well below nominal cut-off frequency of
48Hz. This new driver also features a large dust cap for additional mechanical
stability at high SPLs demanded by modern musical and soundtrack recordings.
The heavy-duty crossover comprises close tolerance air-cord inductors,
metallised polypropylene capacitators and ceramic wire wound resistors, to
achieve minimal distortion at critical cross over points. The SCM35 is Tri-wire
capable.
The new SCM35 provides an 80º coherent flat response, horizontal dispersion,
assuring exceptional stereo and multichannel imaging throughout the entire
listening area. The 35 ½ " tall, 9" wide, 11 ¾" deep, (875x230x300mm)
substantial 35 litre braced cabinet is available in real cherry wood veneer with
other real wood finishes and professional & piano black, to special order.
The SCM35 is supplied complete with high technology ultra-stable, non-resonant
plinths for maximum stability and floor coupling.
