Mosquito is a dual input three dimensional digital noise reduction processor, ideal for use with DVD’s and digital signals in general. Mosquito reduces compression noise artifacts known as “mosquito noise”, and reduces bad reception and low light noises. Mosquito reduces block artifacts associated with fast moving images. Mosquito cleans up and sharpens compressed MPEG images from Satellite T.V., Digital Cable, DVD’s and digital recordings (DVD-R’s and PVR’s).

Mosquito performs four distinct image noise reducing techniques. First, “mosquito noise” is removed, using Algolith's proprietary pixelbased algorithm. Second, Block Artifact Reduction (BAR) blends and diminishes inherent 8 x 8 pixel block structures of MPEG images. Third, Algolith’s advanced motion adaptive temporal filtering eliminates “bad reception and low light” noises. Finally Mosquito provides image enhancement using non-linear filters providing exceptionally sharp and noise free pictures.
