The speakers have a very solid feel to them with a black satin finish on 18mm thick wood cabinets with no visible seams. Each built-in amplifier supplies 100 watts to the woofers and 20 watts to the aluminum dome tweeters. On the back of the master speaker are inputs for analog (RCA), digital (coaxial and optical), a single USB and a sub out. Of course, the Vanatoo Transparent One Encores are Bluetooth capable so your options to play music are practically boundless. You can set them up to turn on automatically when a signal is detected, and they will automatically switch to the first active input. The master speaker has volume, bass and treble controls (functions that are mimicked on the remote as well). The T1Es also come with magnetic grills and the speakers look great with or without them. The cable that connects the two cabinets together is very long, so placement flexibility is maximized.

My initial impression of the T1Es is that they sound clear (especially in the mid-range) with remarkable bass output. A few times I had to get up and make sure my Revel towers were not on by mistake as they were placed next to each other, and that’s no exaggeration! I can not wait to settle in with them this weekend and see what they are capable of. I’ll have more thorough impressions in my forthcoming review in a few weeks, so stay tuned.
