The BenQ TK700STi is a compact DLP 4K projector with the chops for movies and games. As a movie machine, it sports Ultra HD resolution, HDR, and an Android TV interface. Gamers will enjoy its snappy response, zero motion blur, and 240 Hz refresh rate. A high-quality short-throw lens means easy setup and you can enjoy the sound from a built-in five-watt chambered speaker.

My typical projector reviews focus on theater applications. Will a projector be good for movies and TV? But gaming is a serious pastime in many media rooms and BenQ has created the TK700STi to meet the need for a high-performance display. Fast frame rates are important for smooth on-screen motion and quick response to control inputs. Running this projector at 240Hz is an other-worldly experience.

The first thing I did after setting it up was to try a few of my favorite first-person games. The quality of motion and near-zero input lag was something I could perceive even though my gaming skills are average at best. 240fps is seriously fast and once you’ve played on a display of this caliber, you won’t want to go back to a 60Hz computer monitor or TV.

The TK700STi has all the tools necessary for good video as well. In addition to BenQ’s usual suite of calibration controls, it accepts HDR10, HDG, and 3D formats. XPR technology delivers a sharp Ultra HD image through a high-quality lens with manual zoom and focus controls.

The compact chassis can be set up on a coffee table or hung from the ceiling. Android TV is included in the box with a stick that plugs into a dedicated HDMI port in the back. It’s controlled via Bluetooth from the TK700STi’s remote.

This is an impressive package so far, and I’ve barely scratched the surface. Look here for my full review coming very soon.
