Anker’s Nebula Cosmos Max is a compact Ultra HD projector with a long feature list.

Anker Nebula Cosmos Max 4K Projector

In addition to an LED light source and a DLP chip that produces Ultra HD resolution, it supports HDR10 and HLG and covers most of the P3 color gamut. With Android TV 9.0 built-in, you can stream through a large selection of apps. Or connect a disc player or cable/satellite receiver to one of the HDMI 2.0 ports to watch TV on the big screen. It has enough light output to work well in small to medium-sized media rooms.

I received a sample for review somewhat unexpectedly. I had only known Anker for its convenient charging bases and USB batteries. In fact, I use one of these batteries to power my iPad at music gigs. It turns out Anker encompasses several brands included crowdfunded Nebula. The Cosmos Max sits at the top of their line at $1800. It competes in a crowded segment but offers superb sound from four internal speakers and Android TV 9.0 for easy streaming.

I got the Cosmos set up quickly and connected to Wi-fi in a few minutes. With major services just a click or two away, I was soon watching Netflix and Amazon content. The Ultra HD and HDR feeds are particularly nice. And the sound really is excellent, among the best I’ve heard from any projector.
