Last Movie Star Movie Review

We know what this movie is about when we see Burt Reynolds, essentially playing himself, put down his dog at the veterinarian’s office. Reynolds plays Vic Edwards, whose life arc pretty much mirror Reynolds’ in real life; a former sports star, stuntman, lot’s of marriages, career ups and downs and finally old age dotted with memories and regrets.

Edwards gets invited to a Nashville Film festival to collect an award, and finds out it’s a sham with only a few fans there to see the aging star. His first clue was his airplane ride was in coach, and he’s in a crummy hotel.

Technical

The video looked fine. There are quite a few dark scenes, but the picture never got murky.

Audio is not spectacular, but what you would expect from the subject matter. There’s a bit of surround when the characters are outside, and at the ‘film festival’. It’s a pleasing enough mix.
