Page 25 - Panasonic

I loved the way Panasonic was positioned at the show. They had the first booth up the stairs here in the Central Hall, and it ran the entire width of the hall. This ensured that anyone passing from one end of the hall to the other would have to go through the Panasonic booth unless they stepped out into the lobby area between the North and Central Halls. Good thinking Panasonic.

The focus of Panasonic's booth was really on their High Definition offerings. Here is their new HD Camcorder which records 1080i to SD Cards. They also showed a model that records 1080i to DVDs. Both use the AVC HD codec (h.264), employ a 3 CCD configuration for optimal color capture, and have excellent Leica lenses.

First shipping last September, I got my first demonstration of the 720p PT-AX100U. I was looking forward to it because of its relatively high brightness compared to other projectors in its class, and it didn't disappoint.

Having said that, I was even more excited to see the 1080p PT-AE1000U in action. They had a nice little theater set up for this demo and used scenes from The Devil Wears Prada and Eragon. It certainly projects a beautiful picture.

After the 108" Aquos, this may not have been the biggest, bt it was the biggest of the Plasmas measuring in at 103". And what is more beautiful than this display? EIGHT of them!
