Page 22 - Yamaha

Yamaha's booth was fairly reserved. Not a whole lot of revolutionary new things. Here we see some of their speaker lineup.

The DPX-1300 is one of the best 720p DLP projectors out there. However, if Yamaha wants to remain competitive in this market, Yamaha needs to start lowering the price of this model, or look at updating it to a 1080p DPX-1400, or whatever they will call it.

The RX-V2700 builds on the very well-received RX-V2600. It has network functionality, meaning it can do things like stream internet radio directly, integrate with a MusiCast network, or stream music off of your PC. It can switch HDMI, as well as upscale the video to 720p or 1080i, but is only version 1.2a. Still, the Yamaha sound has historically proven to be excellent, so getting yoru HD-DVD and Blu-Ray audio via the analog inputs is not a bad way to go.

Hey...that's a familiar face! (I just reviewed the MusiCast system a short while ago)
