ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Sept. 23, 2009 — Leon Speakers’ employees have grown accustomed to passing around award plaques in the company’s factory after CEDIA EXPO, and this year was no different. Today Leon announced that the company’s Horizon™ 212 ultra-thin, high-fidelity soundbar speaker was honored with two awards at CEDIA EXPO 2009 in Atlanta. Leon’s Horizon 212-LCR-UT took home a CustomRetailer Exc!te Award for “Most Exc!ting new product,” as well as a CE Pro BEST Award in the “On-Wall Loudspeaker” category.
The Exc!te Award, presented by CustomRetailer Magazine, pays tribute to products that stand out for being innovative, high-performing solutions oriented for the custom installation professional. The winners were selected from over 450 nominations received and judged by the magazine’s editorial staff. The inaugural CE Pro BEST Awards recognize the most noteworthy new products and technologies in the industry. Winners are selected based on creativity, innovation, incorporated equipment, obstacles overcome, aesthetics, and lifestyle benefits.

At only 1.5 inches deep and standing just 3.25 inches tall, the Horizon 212-LCR-UT is designed to match the depth of the latest ultra-thin TVs. The speaker utilizes some of the finest drivers in the world. Each L/R channel features dual 2-inch, aluminum-dome Peerless® HDS woofers for excellent sound dispersion and off-axis response (the center channel features four Peerless drivers), while classic Morel® MDT-12 1-inch, hand-treated, cloth-dome tweeters provide superior sound in the upper frequency range.
