RTI's MRP-64 Multiroom Control Processor and U2 Weather-Resistant Controller Named as 2010 TechHome Mark of Excellence Award Winners

SHAKOPEE, Minn. — March 31, 2010 — Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI) today announced that its MRP-64 multiroom control processor and U2 weather-resistant controller have both been honored with a 2010 TechHome Mark of Excellence Award. Presented at the eleventh annual Electronic House Expo (EHX) Spring 2010 in Orlando, Fla., the MRP-64 was named the Platinum Award winner in the “Multi-Room Audio Video Product of the Year” category, while the U2 received the Gold Award in the “Human Interface Product of the Year” category.

Presented by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the TechHome Mark of Excellence Awards recognize outstanding achievement and innovation in trend-setting custom home electronics products. A judging team comprised of systems integrators, manufacturers, members of the trade press, and industry consultants selected the winners in each of the award categories.

“It is quite an honor to receive two CEA TechHome Mark of Excellence Awards,” said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI. “It is a testament to the hard work RTI has invested in designing innovative and unique control solutions for professionally installed electronic systems. Our goal with the products we design is to expand the system capabilities for the end user and create new solutions and sales opportunities for our dealers.”

The MRP-64 is a powerhouse control processor that embraces a revolutionary concept in distributed audio by allowing users to take full advantage of the multizone features built into their surround sound receivers. The unique processor acts as an interface between the receiver and an assortment of RTI’s two-way-enabled controllers. For homeowners, this not only means rock solid control of the electronics from the iPod® dock to the lighting in the media room, but easily expands access to these electronics to the rest of the home.

RTI’s U2 weather-resistant controller sports a completely sealed, durable design to deliver reliable wireless control of A/V systems in harsher environments like the patio, pool, bathroom, or even boats. For outdoor use, the remote control combines the convenience of eight programmable soft buttons with an easy-to-read, high-contrast LCD that can display custom buttons, graphics, and text, even in bright sunlight.
