New Unit Offers Great Versatility with HDMI® & Wireless Multi-Room Audio

UPPER SADDLE RIVER, NJ, April 5, 2017 – Onkyo USA today announced a versatile and beautifully engineered 2-channel amplification solution with the introduction of the TX-8270 Network Stereo Receiver. Comfortably driving loudspeakers of almost any size and impedance, the versatile stereo receiver will delight listeners with rich and compelling sound. The TX-8270 will be available later this month for an MSRP of $599 (USD) and $849.99 (CAD).

Outputting 2 x 100 W (8 Ohms, 20 Hz–20 kHz, 0.08%, 2 channels driven, FTC), the receiver is built around Dynamic Audio Amplification which generates high current through low impedance to control large speaker drivers with uncommon accuracy. Combining non-phase-shift circuitry for imaging clarity with discrete output transistors for low distortion, Dynamic Audio Amplification delivers rhythmic and detailed sound to suit a broad range of musical preferences.

Digital signals are converted by a quality AKM 384 kHz/32-bit DAC enhanced with VLSC™ (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry) filtering technology to eliminate ultra-high-frequency pulse noise. Processing is optimized for Hi-Res Audio including DSD 5.6 MHz/2.8 MHz and PCM formats up to 192 kHz/24-bit in popular file formats.

Exemplifying Onkyo’s long heritage in stereo component design, the TX-8270 features extensive connectivity that makes it quick and easy to enjoy music in any format. The receiver features Dolby Vision signal pass-through; four 4K High Dynamic Range HDMI® inputs and one output with Audio Return Channel (ARC) to facilitate media player connection like Apple TV, as well as easy TV audio amplification. A rear USB input (5V/500mA) supports HDMI dongles that require power.

A moving magnet (MM) phono input; three line inputs; three digital audio inputs (two optical and one coaxial); speaker A/B outputs, and line outputs for Zone 2 (with separate DAC for distributed Net/USB/analog audio) are also included.

Wireless audio casting from smartphones, tablets and personal computers is also a highlight with 5 GHz/2.4 GHz Wi-Fi® supporting AirPlay and Spotify® and is ready for Chromecast built-in*1 and DTS Play-Fi®*1.

Multi-room distribution is enabled by FireConnect™ powered by Blackfire, a wireless protocol that mirrors network and network and external analog sources*2 connected to the receiver on compatible speakers, such as the upcoming Onkyo NCP-302.
