Company Quote:

ISE provides a great opportunity for us to reconnect with our dealers in the EMEA region, and this year we will dazzle them with our latest handheld and in-wall touchpanel controllers, a new XP processor with on-screen control support, powerful and flexible multiroom audio solutions, and much more. In addition, integrators can check out RTI’s expansion into video distribution with new HDMI video matrix switchers as well as the introduction of our APEX control platform. Within the APEX platform, the latest version of Integration Designer will offer a number of key enhancements to provide strong support for remote programming and cloud services. Celebrating 20 years in the industry, this is going to be our biggest and best ISE yet, and we can’t wait to see everyone. — Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI

New RTI Products at ISE 2013:

T2i and T2x Handheld Controllers
RTI’s T2i and T2x take style to an unprecedented level with thinner, sleeker, and more ergonomic designs. For improved gesture support, the handheld controllers feature flush-mount, edge-to-edge touch screens, while integrated grip sensors conveniently keep the remotes turned on while they’re being held. Complementing their design with unparalleled functionality, the T2i and T2x offer a dual RF platform for either one-way control via 433-MHz RF or bidirectional communication with RTI processors and supported third-party electronics through 2.4-GHz ZigBee(R). In addition, the T2x boasts Wi-Fi(TM) support and a groundbreaking, built-in accelerometer for control by hand movements. This allows for commands such as rewind and fast-forward with the flick of a wrist.

VHD-4 and VHD-8 HDMI(R) Video Matrix Switchers
Utilizing HDBaseT(TM) technology, RTI’s 4×4 VHD-4 and 8×8 VHD-8 extend HDMI(R), IR, and RS-232 signals up to 230 feet over a single Cat 5e/6 cable. The units include both HDMI and UTP outputs for each zone, offer very fast switching times of less than one second, and support HDMI and DVI inputs. The VHD-4 is HDMI 1.3-compliant and supports resolutions to 1080p, while the VHD-8 is compliant with HDMI 1.4 and adds support for 3D.

KX2 In-Wall Controller
The KX2 in-wall controller’s elegant design maintains the perfect balance between programmable hard buttons and display size. At 2.8 inches, the LCD is small enough to blend into any environment, yet provides the resolution necessary for displaying custom buttons, text, and graphics. When approached by an end user, a proximity sensor automatically brings the unit to life. From there, the KX2’s infrared output port provides direct control of almost any A/V component or lighting system from up to 1,000 feet away. The controller’s 12 hard buttons and graphic interface are fully programmable using RTI’s Integration Designer(R) software. KX2’s integrated 10/100Base-T Ethernet port with Power-over-Ethernet provides the flexibility to accommodate any installation.

The KX2 will be available Q1, 2013.

XP Control Processors
At ISE 2013, RTI will introduce the latest additions to its XP line of control processors, including the revolutionary new XP-4. Offering an HDMI(R) video output and two inputs for an on-screen display control interface, the XP-4 provides bidirectional communication with supported third-party electronics through an integrated 2.4-GHz ZigBee(R) transceiver and two bidirectional RS-232 ports. An Ethernet connection allows for software downloads, IP control, and provides RTiPanel and Virtual Panel support.

In addition, RTI will highlight the latest version of its popular XP-8 remote control processor: the XP-8s. Offering all the advanced control interface options of its predecessor, the XP-8s’ processing power has been boosted with a new 532MHz i.MX processor, which is more than twice as fast as the XP-8. This translates into better performance, expanded two-way driver support, and faster system file downloads. To take the capabilities of the XP-8s even further, the amount of internal non-volatile Flash memory has been upgraded to 128MB, which is four times more than its predecessor. In addition, each unit will ship with a 4GB SD Flash card to provide plenty of storage for large residential and commercial installations.
