Phase Technology is unveiling its latest line of
high-fidelity home entertainment speakers – Velocity. Named for its streamlined
shape and mind-bending accurate performance, this entirely new series includes
bookshelf, floor-standing and surround speakers as well as powered subwoofers.
Velocity was launched during CEDIA Expo 2003.
“The Velocity line’s sleek exterior is matched only by its exceptional
performance,” said Roberta Lewis, vice president of sales and marketing at Phase
Technology. “Velocity sports a clean and contemporary design that will
complement any home’s interior. Coupled with its highly defined, powerful
performance and unbeatable value, Velocity delivers great music and movie
excitement that’s affordable to all.”
Phase Technology’s Velocity line features a stunning new visual aesthetic
combined with proprietary technologies to produce a matchless package of aural
performance. Phase Technology shifts Velocity’s performance into high gear with
a woofer so innovative, it purrs despite its name. Using Uniframe construction,
the one-piece woofer frame is molded as part of the speaker baffle surface. The
basket is the top layer of a three-part baffle assembly with a dense, highly
damped center section and 3/4” MDF. This makes for an ultra-rigid, non-resonant
configuration to deaden vibration and produce exhilarating, clear and clean
sound. Phase Technology offers two cabinet finishes with black, paintable metal
grilles to match any décor: warm Sun Maple and contemporary Black Rosewood
laminate.
At a glance, these new speakers reveal a style that screams speed and power, but
taking a look under the hood — or grille — reveals just how Velocity puts the
pedal to the metal. The woofers in this series are designed for extra long throw
and use Phase Technology’s proprietary VDT cones. The injection-molded
polypropylene cones are layered with Vapor Deposited Titanium for a smooth and
extended midrange response, while the long throw design allows the Velocity
system to play at live concert levels without compressing or breaking up.
Performing as a system, the speakers stand out as peerless. The difference can
be heard immediately through their Absolute PhaseTM Crossovers, a processing
technology that gives listeners the same soundstage no matter where they are.
Even with speakers at different heights and varied listening positions
throughout a room, all movie soundtracks or music selections maintain total
clarity, imaging accuracy, and even tonal balance.
A 250-Watt onboard amp powers the matching line of subwoofers, dubbed High
Velocity. High Velocity subs feature mica/graphite polypropylene drivers, an
extremely rigid material that’s lightweight enough to produce quick, extremely
highly defined, room-shaking bass. The internal amp’s smart circuitry, created
expressly for the High Velocity series, digitally adjusts the power to produce
always-clean sound at very high levels. Phase Technology offers 8”, 10” and 12”
High Velocity subwoofers for flexibility in matching any environment’s
acoustics.
This unwavering attention to quality is carried out with every sub-assembly
found in each Velocity speaker. From driver fabrication to integrating
proprietary crossover design, each aspect of production must meet a set of
quality control criteria before proceeding to the next step. This process
ensures years of uncompromising performance with every Phase Technology speaker
backed by a 10-year warranty and every amp covered by a 3-year warranty.

About Phase Technology
Phase Technology Corporation (toll-free at 888-PHASE TK; website at
www.phasetech.com) is one of the few fully-vertically integrated American
speaker manufacturers. The company started as United Speaker Systems in 1955 as
an original equipment manufacturer and still designs and produces all of its own
sub-assemblies, constructing drivers using self-wound voice coils and
cutting-edge designs like the flat piston woofer, joining them with proprietary
Absolute PhaseTM crossovers. Phase Technology manufactures all of its wood
cabinets by hand and performs quality control tests over the fabrication and
assembly of every speaker component. All Phase Technology home theater,
audiophile and in-wall/in-ceiling custom installation speakers are constructed
at the company's Jacksonville, Florida headquarters facility and are covered by
a 10-year warranty. Phase Technology’s amplifiers are covered by a 3-year
warranty.
